John joined the firm as a Manager in 1998 after 18 years with another regional accounting firm and became a principal in January, 2001. John enjoys working with a wide variety of clients ranging from small businesses with only one or two employees to some with hundreds of employees. He possesses a variety of financial skills including providing innovative and aggressive tax planning and managing large audit engagements. These skills helped John to quickly become a key member of the firm. He is a member of our Accounting and Consulting Division, and he directs the firm's marketing efforts.
John works with businesses from many different industries and has acquired a reputation for maintaining excellent working relationships with his clients. Many of his clients know him to persistently encourage them to implement profit-enhancing actions. He is also known for his insight into what bankers look for in financial statements and how to plan for the financial statements to look as strong as possible.
Although John has clients across many industries, he has extensive experience providing services to the construction industry. His thorough knowledge of the accounting and tax rules for contractors have enabled him to help clients keep more of what they create and earn. To support his interest in this industry, he is on the membership committee of the Construction Financial Management Association. He is also active in the Associated Builders and Contractors organization and has written several articles for their monthly magazine.
John graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 1979. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institute's of Certified Public Accountants. Within the community he is active with the East Lampeter Township Board of Auditors. Outside of the office John and his wife participate in many of the activities and organizations that their four children are involved in. He and his family reside in East Lampeter Township.
